About me

Muralist | artist | creative | designer | maker of all things

I’m Devin Watlington and I am the founder and creator of Watlington Creative. I am an Austin based muralist and freelance artist that travels all over to paint beautiful art on walls.

I grew up in a small town outside of Waco, Texas. As a child I dreamed of one day becoming an artist. I would have never thought that one day that dream would come true!

I attended Baylor University and obtained a BFA in Graphic Design. After graduating, I began a career as a bench jeweler and jewelry designer. As a young jeweler crafting intricate designs, my evenings were a canvas waiting to be painted. Longing for a more creative career, I delved into the world of painting. Slowly, my jewelry tools made way for brushes, paving a path toward becoming a muralist.

I found my true calling in the expansive realm of murals. Each stroke became an ode to my childhood dream, embracing the freedom and vibrancy of an artist's life. Today, I cherish the journey that led me here—a journey of evolution from jewelry to the grandeur of murals.

Collage of photos showing people working on murals, taking selfies in front of murals, and painting with brushes. One woman is on a lift painting a mural, others are drawing or painting murals on a wall, and a group of three is posing outside in front of a white wall with string lights. There are close-ups of colorful paint brushes and a person writing on a mural.

The text includes references to a show called 'QueerEye', mentioning Season 6 Episode 9, and names like Bobby, Avery, and 'Me'. Additional notes mention painting a mural, designing, and watching the show with Bobby.

Look mom, I made it!

Avery O. and I had the amazing opportunity to paint a few murals for Queer Eye on their Austin season! We got to work with Bobby Berk and even be featured in one episode. Have you spotted us yet?
